Making Wine and Health Benefits
Making wine can be a hobby with many benefits; some of which will be to your health. Others will be to your wallet.
Even if you are making wine for the first time and so need to buy all the equipment, you will find that once it is all done, the average bottle of wine you make costs you under three dollars. If you enjoy drinking wine on regular basis this is a big savings. Compare it to the average bottle of wine at the store and you will see how much of a savings this is. But more interesting is the fact that the wine you are making may be good for your health.
If you enjoy a glass of wine with your dinner then you might be doing your health more good then you realize. As far back as 450 B.C. wines were used to clean wounds, get rid of fevers or were used if a person needed a nutritional supplement. The reason for this is that the natural acids and alcohols in wine will kill many of those things in out bodies that are detrimental to our health. Wine can also work as a natural relaxant. It eases the tension, supplies the body with energy, helps with digestion and can help those who are unwell feel better. It imparts a feeling of euphoria. All these benefits come from a simple bottle of wine.
You ask yourself, if wine is so good for you why are we not encouraged to drink it? Simple, medical professionals are reluctant to recommended something as beneficial when it is considered a stimulant that when over used, drinking too much, can cause its own problems. How can a health care provider recommend something when you may drink and then drive under the influence? Yet, the evidence that continues to pour through says that those who drink a glass of wine a day can improve their health that they have a fifty percent less death rate from heart disease than those who do not take a glass of wine regularly. This research was published in the 1970s and is still very much ignored to this day though continuing research proves this theory.
They look at Europeans, who tend to drink wine and water with their meals, and compare it to North Americans, who drink milk, pop or coffee with their meals. Europeans have less heart disease issues. Researchers say that it is because of the wine intake. They always include in their reports a caution. Too much wine is not good for you. Those who are heavy drinkers will not get any health benefits from drinking wine. They will do themselves much more harm then good.
So when you are making wine think about the fact that not only will you enjoy the taste of it, but you may also be doing your health some good. After all if the benefits of wine are real you will have your own specially made supply.
