"a rich luscious combination"
David Sly, SA Life Magazine
Year: 2011
Editorial: Two of McLaren Vale's shining attributes are brought together here in the one glass. Winemaker Brian Light achieves a lovely mix of 55 per cent garnacha (the Spanish term for grenache) with tempranillo and finds the
balance between robust power and savoury moreishness. Through choosing older oak for the maturation process, the resulting wine is rich with vibrant fruit flavours and bright primary characteristics; juicy raspberries, brambly red berries with hints of cooked rhubarb, molten chocolate and spice, in a rich. luscious combination. Chalky tannins give a firm grip in the palate making this type of wine ideally suited to food. (2010 Vintage)

"fleshy red but with a tang to it"
Greg Duncan Powell, MasterChef Magazine, July 2011
Year: 2011
Editorial: "The meeting of McLaren Vale and Spain here works nicely. It's a bright, fleshy red but with a tang to it. This wouldn't be out of place at an Aussie barbecue." (2010 Vintage)

Recommended
Winewise Magazine, June 2011
Year: 2011
Editorial: "This is an attractive wine having ripe red berry aromas. The palate is fleshy, full of red and dark berry fruits, with a savoury tannin edge. Uncomplicated, but very drinkable." (2010 Vintage)
-
"this wine is delicious"
Campbell Mattinson, Gourmet Traveller Wine
Year: 2011
Editorial: "Diversity in Australian wine is not dead; it's thriving. Witness the 2010 Dowie Doole G&T. Freshness is its key. So too are flashes of dried herbs and spice on the nose, and rushes of blueberry, raspberry, rhubarb-like flavours in the mouth. It is, simply, alive with pure, grapy, red wine flavour. I'd bang on some more about it - but I'm keen to get back to drinking it. It's that kind of wine." (2010 Vintage)

90 Points
Nick Stock, Wine Business Monthly
Year: 2011
Editorial: Smells of dark cherries and rose petals - no oak to report. Juicy and fresh palate with brambly berries, cherries and juicy, young tannin snap. (2010 Vintage)

"...a little spirit from Spain...Fruit is the key"
Jeni Port, Sunday Age - Blended Reds
Year: 2011
Editorial: "G&T stands for garnacha (aka, grenache) and tempranillo. The grapes are grown in McLaren Vale but the producer is after
a little spirit of Spain, using two of that country's better-known red varieties. Fruit is the key, lots of black and spicy fruits and
earthiness with an un-Australian dryness to close." (2010 Vintage)

92 Points "I'm really impressed with this wine"
Campbell Mattinson - The Winefront 2nd April 2011
Year: 2011
Editorial: "This grenache-tempranillo blend has seen minimal oak and the winery encoruages consumers to drink it young - to get the full burst of its buoyant fruit flavour.
It's good advice too, though I'd reckon this would cellar pretty well over the medium term - if you so desire. It's rich with ripe, sweet raspberry, blueberry and rhubarb - like flavours with flashes of dashing, dried herb and earth too. Savoury, sweet and mouthfilling. There's quite a bit of dry, chewy tannin on the finish and fresh fruit galore though the aftertaste. If it's not obvious - I'm really impressed with this wine. Reckon they are onto a winner. 92 Points." (2010 Vintage)

4 Stars
Fergus McGhie, Canberra Times
Year: 2010
Editorial: "Garnacha is Spanish for what we more
commonly know as grenache. It's a variety
that's particularly well suited to McLaren
Vale's warm Mediterranean climate. Add in
some tempranillo and you have a delicious
medium-bodied red. Its redcurrant, blueberry
and prune flavours are made for enjoying
immediately with a few plates of tapas." (2009 Vintage)
