Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, The Wine Advocate
Year: 2012
Editorial: "..ripe peaches, apple tart, mandarin peel and ginger with a hint of honeysuckle. Very sweet (125 grams per litre of residual sugar), pure and concentrated in the mouth, it's a lighter bodied / lower alcohol style (10% declared alcohol) with a wonderfully viscous texture and a good long finish." "apricot kernels, firm stonefruit flesh, light vanilla"
Julian Coldrey, Full Pour
Year: 2011
Editorial: "the nose could be that of a rich dry table wine, showing apricot kernels, firm stonefruit flesh, light vanilla and heady florals. There's an almost savoury tone to it that is a lovely counterpoint to the relative richness of the fruit character; certainly, everything seems in balance. Mostly, this aroma speaks simply of fresh fruit, picked and eaten at the point of early ripeness.
The palate shows great continuity of style, echoing the nose's nimble aroma profile with a palate structure that is gentle but shapely, well matched to the wine's moderate weight and body. It's here the wine's sugar content has an impact, creating good intensity of fruit flavour from entry onwards, and rounding out the mouthfeel." (2010 Vintage)

"wonderfully fresh, fig-flavoured creamy treat"
Tony Love, SA Weekend Magazine, The Advertiser
Year: 2011
Editorial: "As this McLaren Vale viognier approached ripening, its vine canes were cut and the fruit left to hang and dehydrate for eight days, increasing its sugar content. The result is a wonderfully fresh, fig-flavoured creamy treat that retains a lemony freshness in its finish." (2010 Vintage)

"really lovely lighter-style dessert wine from consistently good McLaren Vale winery"
Winsor Dobbin, The Grape Hunter
Year: 2011
Editorial: "A terrific use for viognier grapes? This is a really lovely lighter-style dessert wine from consistently good McLaren Vale winery Dowie Doole, full of freshness and youthful vibrancy. Whereas many "stickies" can be cloying and sickly sweet, this is more of a ballet dancer, impressively light on its feet. There's a pretty serious nose of ripe figs and stone fruit but the palate is different matter with silkiness and some bright, crisp acid on the finish." (2010 Vintage)

"sweet and sassy with luscious apricot and citrus"
Kerry Skinner, Illawarra Mercury
Year: 2011
Editorial: "The McLaren Vale-based Dowie Doole is jointly owned by experienced wine professionals Norm Doole, Drew Dowie and Leigh Gilligan who have been lucky to have the services and input of the talented winemaker Brian Light. This attractively packaged sticky, crafted from 100 per cent viognier, is a newcomer to the portfolio. It's sweet and sassy with luscious apricot and citrus, lively acidity and a clean finish. Drink with plum pudding or a
fruit and cheese platter." (2010 Vintage)
