Two great mates, Drew Dowie and Norm Doole, both acquire iconic McLaren Vale vineyards.
DOWIE DOOLE Wine Founded
After an early morning of picking Drew's Chenin Blanc Drew and Norm decided that it would be better to make their own wine rather than sell their grapes, and DOWIE DOOLE was founded!
DOWIE DOOLE First Varietals Launch
The first DOWIE DOOLE Wines were released, the Chenin Blanc and Semillon.
Sales Network Expands to Canada
Using Norm Doole's Canadian contacts, DOWIE DOOLE wines are exported and sold in Canada.
Leigh Gilligan Appointed as General Manager
Long time industry expert and friend of Drew and Norm's, Leigh Gilligan, appointed as General Manager of DOWIE DOOLE Wines.

Launch of New Varietals
The first DOWIE DOOLE Shiraz and Cabernet's released.
Further Export Expansion
DOWIE DOOLE furthered its exports by launching into Hong Kong, China, UK, and Germany.
First Cellar Door Opened
DOWIE DOOLE opened its first cellar door, a space shared with Gemtree Wines in what is now the Salopian Inn.
Chris Thomas Joins the Team
Chris Thomas is brought on board as Winemaker for DOWIE DOOLE.
Moved the Cellar Door
The DOWIE DOOLE Cellar Door was moved to another site on California Road.
DOWIE DOOLE Ownership Change
Chris Thomas along with a like minded group of investors purchased DOWIE DOOLE from Drew and Norm.
Vineyard Purchase
DOWIE DOOLE purchased a 50 hectare vineyard on California Road, next door to Norm Doole's vineyards.
Achieved 5* Halliday Rating
First time DOWIE DOOLE recieved a 5* halliday star rating & a 5 Dark Horses award finalist
Purchase of additional vineyards and wine making facilities
DOWIE DOOLE purchased an additional 35 Hectares of vines and new winemaking facilities in Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale
